Beth, a Filipina, and Zvi, an Israeli, have been in a loving relationship for 10 years. When they tried to settle Beth’s status, the couple faced a number of difficulties due to previous incorrect legal advice. Adv. Chen Weiss of our office, who handled the case, submitted an application to the Population and Immigration Authority, which rejected it due to Beth’s prolonged illegal stay in Israel , and demanded that Beth leave Israel.
In light of this, we filed an appeal to the Appeals Tribunal, and after a renewed review by the Population and Immigration Authority, in which the couple was given another interview, Beth received a residence and work permit of type B/1 – after 18 years in Israel without a visa and without being able to leave to visit her family and return to Israel. Beth can now work legally, and she and Zvi can fly to the Philippines to visit her family and continue to live together.
